Mayco Stroke & Coat is the industry’s most versatile glaze. Stroke & Coat is a heavily pigmented, viscous glaze line that can be used for brush strokes or opaque coverage.

Stroke & Coat glazes fire glossy without clear glaze and is opaque with two to three coats.

Application:

  • Let dry between coats.

  • Can be applied on wet clay, greenware, or bisqueware.

  • Apply with a brush, sponge, slip-trailers or applicator bottles, or silkscreens.

  • Colours can butt up to one another without the colours moving.

  • Colours can be layered and will not move nor blend with the colours beneath, even when using light over dark.

  • Colours are inter-mixable, which allows for custom shades to be created.

  • Stroke & Coat can be thinned with water to create a watercolour style or wash effect.

  • Use these glazes to create intricate, detailed designs.

Firing:

  • Stoke & Coat can be fired from cone 06 to cone 10, in oxidation or reduction.

  • Food-safe when fired correctly.

  • Stroke & Coat will fire glossy without the need for clear glaze.

  • Clear glaze can be added if additional glossiness is desired, or if Stroke & Coat has been applied inconsistently.

  • If adding clear glaze and firing to cone 5 or higher, the final colour may be affected, and could cause the design to move or blur

NOTE: Images shown are fired flat on a white clay body - fired to cone 6 oxidation and cone 10 reduction. The choice of clay body, the thickness of glaze application, the firing process, and temperature will affect the fired results. All images provided by Mayco, and are indicative only. It is recommended you conduct testing first to verify the colours on your chosen clay body.
