Wax Resist

A wax emulsion used to mask areas from decoration. It is the water based equivalent of paraffin wax.

In order to protect your brushes and be able to clean them after using the wax - firstly thoroughly mix 50% Washing up liquid with 50% Olive Oil and work your brush into this mixture to lightly "coat" each hair in the brush. After using this brush to apply the wax your brush should wash out perfectly in water. 

If you are using a lot of wax in your bisque firing please ensure that you go very slowly to 200C (less than 50 degrees per hour) to burn off the wax before the flashpoint at 220C.
